Have you noticed how online applications have exploded across the web this year? They’re slick and nimble, and making any computer you sit at, your pc.

Others, like Backpack, change our ideas about what a program is, and what it can do for us.

They give us a place to store and share our files and our bookmarks. They help us keep track of where we’ve been, where are friends are now, and what we hope to do next. Heck, they’ll even help you search today for things that won’t be on the internet until some day later.

It’s easy to overload yourself with too much new. But online applications can’t be ignored.
